Crowdsourcing your playlist

An entry about this and that Publication date 28. November 2011 12:57

Today the website for Mixli, a project I've been working on most evenings the last few months launched, so heres a cheeky plug for it.

Mixli running on a TV

You're throwing a party and would like to let your guests request music - but you're tired of people messing with your stereo and changing what's playing halfway through songs, or putting on obscure records that nobody but them wants to hear.

Mixli is a music player that runs on your PC or Mac (hook it up to the TV!). Give it a playlist, start an event, and let your friends vote on songs using their Android, iPhone or Windows Phones. Mixli will count votes and play songs based on what your friends wants to listen to.

Visit http://www.mixliapp.com if you'd like to try the beta version :-)

Welcome!

My name is Fredrik Kalseth, and this is my blog - thanks for visiting! I am fortunate enough to work with what I love for a living, and this blog is essentially the biproduct of that.

I work as a senior consultant for Capgemini, and am also an active participant in the Norwegian .NET community, as an avid attendee but also as a speaker (most recently at NNUG and MSDN Live).

As a developer, I have a wide circle of interest. My primary passion is for agile, test-driven development, with focus on best practices and clean code. That said, I also love to work on the frontend, especially with web development.

On Twitter? My handle is fkalseth. On LinkedIn? I`m there too.
