MVC At The Local .NET User Group Meeting This Month

An entry about nnug Publication date 11. March 2008 13:16

The weeks keep flying by, and we're already halfway through March. That means we're also halfway to the next local .NET user group meeting here in Sandefjord, which is held on the last Thursday of the month; that's the 27th of March this time around. This time, the evening is dedicated to architecture for the presentation layer, and we'll be diving into the MVC design pattern. We'll find out it is merely having its 15 minutes of fame in the .NET spotlight due to the recent beta release of the ASP.NET MVC framework, or if it's a truly worthwile investment. We'll look at the theory of MVC as a design pattern, and it's implementation not only in ASP.NET but how it is appliccable as a cross-UI approach on both web, Windows and mobile devices.

Pizza and Prizes!

If that sounds interresting to you, then slip over to the NNUG website and sign up. As always the event is free, and there'll be food served (pizza!). If that's not enough, each meeting we're also handing out a license to JetBrains Resharper (an excellent refactoring plugin for Visual Studio) to one lucky attendee. See you there!

Speak up?

We're always looking to let new people have a go at talking at NNUG. It's a community driven event, which means that we need the help of the community to keep it going. If you've got a topic you burn for and would like to talk about, don't hesitate to get in touch and we'll be more than happy to let you give a presentation.

Welcome!

My name is Fredrik Kalseth, and this is my blog - thanks for visiting! I am fortunate enough to work with what I love for a living, and this blog is essentially the biproduct of that.

I work as a senior consultant for Capgemini, and am also an active participant in the Norwegian .NET community, as an avid attendee but also as a speaker (most recently at NNUG and MSDN Live).

As a developer, I have a wide circle of interest. My primary passion is for agile, test-driven development, with focus on best practices and clean code. That said, I also love to work on the frontend, especially with web development.

On Twitter? My handle is fkalseth. On LinkedIn? I`m there too.
